# kaidashi > kaidashi is a mobile app for shared grocery lists, on iPhone, and in closed testing on Android, in six languages (English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, and Hindi). A household (a couple, a family, roommates) shares one list, updated live: you see what's missing, what's already in the cart, and who got it. Free. Status: available on iPhone, in testing on Android (App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/kaidashi/id6824775288; Android: closed testing on Google Play, open to anyone who asks at https://kaidashi.app/en#android-test). - Name: kaidashi (always lowercase). - Platforms: iOS (App Store); Android in closed testing on Google Play, open to anyone who asks; one household can mix both. - Languages: English, French, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), German, and Hindi (follows the phone's language). - Price: free, no ads. - Publisher: Emmanuel Gorre, as an individual. Contact: support@kaidashi.app. - Data: hosted in France (OVH), visible only to the members of the household; the account can be deleted from the app. ## Features - Live, and you know who got what: What one person adds shows up right away for everyone else. No more texting from the aisle. - Add in two seconds: Type the first few letters: kaidashi suggests what your household usually buys and guesses the unit (bananas by the kilo, milk by the liter). - One-handed at the store: Press an item and drag it into the cart with your thumb. Too quick? “Undo” is right there. - Even with no signal: No reception at the back of the supermarket? kaidashi keeps working offline, and everything syncs as soon as you’re back online. - Several households, your whole crew: One list at home, another for the vacation home or your roommates: switch between them with a tap. ## Pages - [Home, download, and Android test](https://kaidashi.app/en): overview, features, FAQ. - [Support](https://kaidashi.app/en/support): inviting someone, several lists, offline use, deleting your account. - [Privacy policy](https://kaidashi.app/en/privacy): data processed, retention, rights (the French version prevails). - [For couples](https://kaidashi.app/en/grocery-list-for-couples): a grocery list for two. - [For families](https://kaidashi.app/en/grocery-list-for-families): one list for the whole family, teens and grandparents included (no kid accounts or parental controls). - [For roommates](https://kaidashi.app/en/grocery-list-for-roommates): one list for the whole apartment (no expense splitting). - [For restaurants](https://kaidashi.app/en/grocery-list-for-restaurants): one grocery list for a small food business team, from the wholesaler to the market (no supplier orders, inventory, or prices). - [Comparison](https://kaidashi.app/en/comparison): kaidashi next to Bring!, Listonic, OurGroceries, and Google Keep, with checked and sourced facts. - [Grocery list template](https://kaidashi.app/en/grocery-list-template): a complete, printable grocery list organized by aisle, with checkboxes, plus a weekly list and a college student list (no import into the app). - [How to make a grocery list](https://kaidashi.app/en/how-to-make-a-grocery-list): a six-step guide (fridge and pantry, weekly meals, aisles, quantities, a shared list, a template) and common mistakes. - [Why kaidashi?](https://kaidashi.app/en/why-kaidashi): where the name comes from, the Japanese word 買い出し (kaidashi), “going out to buy groceries and supplies,” often for several people; pronounced “ka-i-da-shi.” - [Claude and ChatGPT](https://kaidashi.app/en/assistants): connect Claude or ChatGPT to the household list (MCP server https://kaidashi.app/mcp) to add or check off items and turn a recipe or a weekly menu into a list. ## Optional - [Full version of this file](https://kaidashi.app/en/llms-full.txt) - [Français](https://kaidashi.app/llms.txt) - [Español](https://kaidashi.app/es/llms.txt) - [Português](https://kaidashi.app/pt/llms.txt) - [Deutsch](https://kaidashi.app/de/llms.txt) - [हिन्दी](https://kaidashi.app/hi/llms.txt)
