The grocery list for couples, up to date for both of you

Updated

“Did you get the milk?” “No, I thought you did.” With kaidashi, you share a single grocery list, up to date on both your phones: each of you sees what’s missing and what the other has already put in the cart.

One list, on both your phones

You add yogurt from the couch: it shows up right away on your partner’s phone. Items your partner adds show up with their avatar, so you can tell at a glance what’s new. And you each keep your own phone, iPhone or Android (on Android, through the test for now): in the same household, you both see the same list, live.

At the store, you know who got what

Whoever does the shopping drags each item into the cart with their thumb. The other one sees right away that it’s been picked up. The cart groups what each of you picked up, with the time: if you’re each in a different store, nobody buys the milk twice. Picked something up by mistake? One tap and it’s back on the list.

Add items in two seconds

Type the first few letters: kaidashi suggests what you usually buy and guesses the unit (bananas by the kilo, milk by the liter). The jam jar is empty? Scan its barcode: a known product is added on its own after 5 seconds, with its photo when there is one.

And at the back of the supermarket, where there’s no signal, the list keeps working: everything syncs as soon as you’re back online.

Invite your partner

Open your profile (your avatar at the top of the list), then My households › Share. Have your partner scan the QR code, or send the link in a message. On their side, they install kaidashi, tap Join, and scan the code (or open the link). The invite is valid for 7 days, and signing in needs no password.

One list per household

One list at home, another for the vacation home or your parents’ place: switch between them by tapping the household name. Each household has its own items, stores, and members.

Free, no ads, your data in France

kaidashi is free, with no ads and no selling of your data. Your list is only visible to the members of your household; it’s hosted in France, by OVH. The details are in the privacy policy.

Frequently asked questions

My partner has an Android phone. Does it work?

Yes: one household can mix iPhone and Android, and you both see the same list. On Android, kaidashi is in closed testing on Google Play for now: leave the Google account email at the bottom of this page to join the test.

How do I invite my partner?

Open your profile (your avatar at the top of the list), then My households › Share: have them scan the QR code, or send the link in a message. The invite is valid for 7 days, and signing in uses an Apple or Google account, with no password.

Can we each shop at a different store?

Yes. Each of you drags what you pick up into the cart, and the other sees it right away. The cart groups what each person picked up, with the time: nobody buys the milk twice.
